Update on foundation and a very special day
We want to take this time to personally thank everybody that has joined the Believe For Boey foundation. All of you mean the world to us and we could not do this without you. You are all doing God's work in carrying on Boey's legacy of love to all the amazing families that need us. We are eternally grateful to all of you.
If the last couple of days have been a preview of what's ahead..we are beyond excited, honored, blessed, and in awe of what God has in store for all of the families. We started Monday morning with a training workshop for the foundation. Mission Increase is an incredible Christ centered ministry that focuses on helping non profit Christian organizations. They are an answer to our prayers!! We are so excited to have their support with the foundation. You can check out their awesome website at http://www.missionincrease.org/ if you want to know all the ways they will be helping our foundation. We were connected with other ministries and learned so much from the workshop. Many of you are wondering what is next for the foundation and asking how you can help. Rob and I are going to be doing a video blog so we can connect with all of you and explain to you what's going and where we are at. It will really help everyone understand exactly where things are at, all the exciting ways we are going to help the families and much much more. I could write all night on how the foundation will minister to families, so we figured a video blog would be much easier LOL. Let's just say we are VERYYYYYYY EXCITED and can't wait to share all of this with you!!
Monday we spent most of the day with a very special family who we love dearly. Shane is an extraordinary young man who is a warrior and an inspiration to the world. On 1-3-2006 he was diagnosed with Chondroblastic Osteosaroma a high grade and very aggresive bone cancer that has returned to his lungs (again). He is in week 2 of my double lung recovery removing all of the evil cancer and was in recovery mode from the surgery when we went to Portland to visit him and his beautiful mother Renae.
Our visit was divine!! It was so beautiful. The only hard part was not having a way to buy them gift cards for gas, food, and ways to pay a mortgage payment. I know that will all come in time as the foundation grows, it's just something we are SOO passionate about. We can't wait to lift financial burdens off of the families so they can focus all their time and energy on their child who needs them now more than ever. It blesses us to help these families more than I can ever express, so it's hard being patient lol.
We are so honored that the Lord chose us to be Boey's parents. We are beyond blessed and love our extraordinary daughter with a deep heavenly agape love. There are no earthly words to express how much we love her, only God really knows and we cherish that. Boey had a very special mission while she was here. She lived more life than most adults do in their entire lifetime. While she was here she saw the suffering of all her little warrior friends and was determined to put an end to it..she said many times "this tumor messed with the WRONG boey"!!! Did it ever!!! Her legacy and spirit will continue on through eternity and impact lives all over the world. We know that we are carrying a very special torch and we want to do this right. We have been given a very special responsibility by God, and we take it very seriously. God trusted us with our radiant angel Boey, and now he is trusting us to carry on the beautiful legacy she started. We have never felt more peace or joy about doing anything in our entire lives. This is our calling and what the Lord has for us. During my time with the Lord, I told him that if I could spend time with the families everyday of my life here on earth until he calls me home, that I would be one happy woman!!! Nothing will ever take away the pain of my baby girl not being here, but I feel so close to her when I'm with these families. It's very healing for Rob and I. Yes, it's very difficult at times but that's when I hear my baby's sweet voice saying "I love you mommy, you can do this, you'll be here with me soon, you have work to do, my friends need you mommy"!! That's all I need:) . She is always with me, I feel her presence all day everyday. So please be patient with us as we continue to build the foundation hand in hand with God. The foundation is our heart and soul, it's the reason I am able to get up instead of sleeping when the grief takes over. It means everything to us and we just want to do everything right in honor of God and our precious daughter:).
It was so wonderful to be able to connect with this family and share our love with them. I have such a cool God story to share with you. On our drive up I asked Renae what Shane's favorite food was..she said he loves the "Manhatten" from New York City Subs. We couldnt wait to bring Shane his favorite sub:). I told Renae I'd fly to the ends of the earth to make Shane happy, whatever he wanted he was going to get!!! Well..little did we know that we'd find out a city subs didn't exist in Portland..but God had a different plan. We called to find out where New York City Subs was in Portland and they told us they only had them in the Bend and Redmond area!! We were like NOOOOOO!!! I was ready to drive to Bend LOL!! So I was texting Renae to tell her the sad news and was all bummed that I couldnt get Shane his favorite sandwich and all the sudden I heard Debi say "Look!! It says New York Subs and Pasta"!! My friend Debi saw this small awkward sign on the corner..it could easily be missed. She credits all of it to God..she said it was divine timing that she happened to look up when she did.
We realized at that moment that God and Boey were really guiding us because we were driving way to fast to see a awkward placed sign out of nowhere. Rob and I had been down that same exact road so many times in the last two years for Boey's treatment and never once saw this place. We knew that God was helping us to make sure Shane had his special sub that he loves!!! We were all just amazed at how God worked in that moment when we thought we were going to have to disappoint Shane. It just shows us time and time again that our awesome heavenly father cares about who we are and what we love, he loves us so much and takes great joy in making us happy:)!! Shane was one happy guy!!! Thank you Lord!! What an awesome divine blessed day!! Thank you Jesus!!
During our visit, Renae shared something very special to us. She said she could feel Boey's presence in the hospital while they were there with Shane. She said she's never felt that before. She said there are two little angel warriors presence that she feels and one of them is Boey. We were all bawling as she shared this cause we all know how much Boey loves the children in the hospitals and that's the first place she'd want to go and visit if the Lord allowed. I believe that he does allow her to. The Lord gave our friend Debi an amazing vivid dream about two months ago. In the dream my friend saw Boey in a hospital hallway super busy going in and out of the rooms. She said boey was just radiant and absolutely beautiful in her glorified body and so happy to be there.
She is one busy girl in heaven!!! She's doing her work from heaven and counting on us to do all we can down here:).
All of us gathered together before we left and Rob laid hands on Shane. We asked the Lord for a complete healing to Shane's body and all of us felt the Lord's presence. Rob said he could feel heat in his hand as he prayed for Shane. He asked Shane if he could feel the heat and with a big smile Shane said he did:). They were so grateful for our visit and continued to thank us for such a special time. Renae kept hinting there was extra beds if we didn't want to drive home yet lol. I was very close to taking her up on it LOL!! We love you Christensen family:).
There was so much excitement in the car on the way home! We talked nonstop about our amazing blessed day. We kept thanking God for our special day with a very special and beautiful family. We can't wait to see how many families will be blessed by the foundation and what kind of impact we will be making with research for a cure and so much more!! Now that I've written an entire novel lol, and half of you are probably asleep after reading all this lol, we love you all so much you have no idea!! You are making all of Boey's dreams come true. May God richly bless each and every one of you.

Like you said, the foundation is being directed by The worldest cutest CEO. Its so funny how God can guide us, even to a sandwich...lol Boey just wanted to make sure Shane got what he wanted =) Keep up the awesome work "Warrior Mama" !!!

Her happy little spirit continues to encourage me along the way, and I could never thank you enough for allowing this to happen!
